About ISCB

The Ciliate Biology Forum, Delhi, India has previously organized two International Symposium on Ciliate Biology in the year 2007 and 2018. This year, two colleges of the University of Delhi , Acharya Narendra Dev College and Maitreyi College are organizing an online-Symposiaum in collaboration with INSCR on November 08, 2022. The symposium aims to achieve the following –

To provide a platform for the ciliate interest group to exchange information, present latest research findings and establish collaborations
To enthuse a large number of Indian and foreign undergraduate and postgraduate students to take up ciliated protists as their preferred research area
To provide networking opportunities for students wishing to take up doctoral or postdoctoral research on ciliates

The scientific content shall include a wide gamut of aspects of ciliate biology: Biodiversity, Ecology, Evolution, Systematics, Genomics, Epigenetics, DNA Barcoding, Proteomics, Ciliates and Industry, Ciliates as model organisms in UG teaching and in research, other individual specializations. Additionally, there will be a parallel session open for oral and poster presentations.

The symposium is likely to have participation of over 10 international ciliate experts sharing their research work. Members of the Ciliate Biology Forum will also have the platform to share their current research. This will include research scholars who are presently engaged in ciliate research.
