For ORAL presentation of original work related to the various themes of the conference, the detailed guidelines are as follows:

  1. Duration of presentation will be 8 minutes followed by 2 minutes of Q & A session.
  2. Dark text (avoid red and green colors) on a light background, Times New Roman font, 14-24 pts should be used. In-Slide animations and slide transition effects should be avoided.
  3. Title slide should clearly mention the topic of the presentation and name and affiliation of the presenter.
  4. Presentations should be submitted in the ppt/pptx format with file size < 25 MB (to facilitate sending by email).
  5. Presentations should also be submitted in the PDF format.

Note

*Time limit should be adhered to for the oral presentations.
*Certificate will be issued to the presenter only.

Good Practices

  1. Show no more than 1 slide per minute of speaking time. This means approximately 8 slides MAXIMUM for 8 minutes presentation. There are 2 minutes at the end for questions from the audience. It detracts from the quality of the presentation to flash numerous graphs, equations, or tables on the screen in rapid sequence in an effort to squeeze a presentation into its allotted time.
  2. Make the letters on your slides BIG ENOUGH. Suggested minimum font size is 14 to maximum 24 for body of text.
  3. Put no more than 6 lines of text or 4 curves on any slide.
  4. Avoid lengthy tabulations of numerical data
  5. In addition to the body of the talk, present an introduction and a summary or conclusion.
  6. Use photos, diagrams, graphs or any other artwork as a focal point to attract attention and these should be easily visible from a distance.
  7. Try to make all illustrations (charts, pies, graphs, etc.) into bold graphic display where text is minimized and symbols are maximized.
  8. Avoid colours that will distract the viewer from the focal parts of your presentation.
  9. The focus should be on major findings and not on everything you know.
  10. Choose a simple color scheme with only two or three related colors. Change colors on graphs and figures in a way that they complement the background color (use light colors for background).
